Bring Eli Home hat
I am so excited to announce a hat design that I am selling to generate money to help reunite a mother with her kidnapped son.
Abdullah Eli Kiraz was deceptively removed from Ohio on March 4th, 2010 and is being illegally retained in Turkey by his father Muhammed Mucellid Kiraz. Eli's mother, Sara Edwards, is fighting for his return and needs our help.
Please take a moment to go to Bring Eli Home and watch Sara's video.
Sara says on the website-, "If this was your story, if this was your child, could you let any obstacle stop you from holding your child again?". That's why I am donating 100% of the proceeds of this hat pattern to raise funds for Sara's mounting legal costs. How could I not?
... Please help us spread the word and attract attention to this case.
Even if you don't crochet (what a great reason to learn if you don't know how!) please donate.
The Bring Eli Home hat is a crocheted slouchy brimmed hat made in worsted weight yarn. The hat is adorned with a removable band that is great for showcasing small amounts of hand dyed yarn.
The pattern is available as a PDF on Ravelry- buy now. The pattern can be purchased without a Ravelry account.
My sincere thanks to the following people for their generous help and love- Devona, Sara, Andrea, Tracie, Maiya, and Amy.
